WAGventures Woof ReportĀ  August 2026 Events and Updates

Welcome to August, WAGventurers! šŸ¾ā˜€ļø

Ā August has arrived, bringing sunny adventures, community fun, and plenty of opportunities to make memories with our four-legged best friends across the Virginia Peninsula.

Ā

Inside this month's WAGventures Woof Report, you'll find exciting upcoming events, local pet news, ways to get involved, and simple ways you can help support the amazing rescues and shelters that make our community stronger.

Ā

As summer temperatures continue to climb, don't forget to keep your pups safe while enjoying the outdoors:

  • šŸ’§ Always bring plenty of fresh water.

  • 🌳 Plan walks during the cooler morning or evening hours.

  • 🐾 Check the pavement before heading out—if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.

  • šŸš— Never leave pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.

Whether you're joining us for an event, exploring a new trail, or simply spending quality time with your furry family members, we're grateful to have you as part of the Peninsula Pups WAGventures community.

Ā

Thank you for helping us build a more pet-friendly Peninsula—let's make this an August that's truly worth wagging about!

Ā

Jennifer Morrone, Community Coordinator Peninsula Pups WAGventures

Ā

We’re excited to share what’s coming up at WAGventures and a few helpful reminders about how to make the most of our events, groups, and community spaces.

šŸ“… Upcoming Events — Where to Find Them

All upcoming WAGventures events can be found on our website event calendar and shared through our social media channels. This is the best place to see what’s happening, learn more about each event, and stay up to date if details change. Whether it’s a walk, workshop, meetup, or support group, our calendar is your go‑to resource. Check out our WAG EVENTS https://www.peninsulapupswagventures.online/event-list

šŸŽŸļø Why We Ask You to Order Tickets — Even for Free Events

Even when an event is free, reserving a ticket helps us:

*Plan appropriately for space, supplies, and staffing

*Communicate important updates or reminders

*Ensure everyone has the best possible experience

*If something comes up and you can’t attend, no worries — but claiming a spot truly helps us serve the community better.

šŸ“˜ Facebook Group vs. Facebook Page — What’s the Difference?

We often get questions about our two Facebook spaces, so here’s a quick breakdown:

Our Facebook Page is our public space — it’s where we share announcements, upcoming events, photos, and general updates. Check out our Facebook PAGE and be sure to follow us: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584337561203

Our Facebook Group is a more interactive, community‑focused space where members can connect, ask questions, share experiences, and support one another. Check out our Facebook GROUP and share photos of you and your pups at our events or at off on your own WAGventures: https://www.facebook.com/groups/peninsulapupsdogwalkingclub

Both spaces matter, but they serve different purposes — and you’re welcome in both!

šŸ“Œ Which Events Have Facebook Event Pages — and Why?

Some of our events will have dedicated Facebook Event pages. These are typically used for:

*Larger or public‑facing events

*Events where reminders, discussion, or sharing is helpful

*Making it easier for attendees to invite friends

Facebook Event pages help spread the word and keep all event‑specific conversations in one place.

Thank you for being part of WAGventures. Whether you attend events, participate online, support our partners, or simply cheer us on, you make a difference — and we’re so glad you’re here.
